The VOCOlinc RGBIC rope lights add a nice ambiance to my bar. I added them to the bottom of the bar counter. I was not able to use the brackets that came with them because they did not stick well and are not designed to allow for an upside-down installation. Instead, I purchased 3/4" 3M back-glue self-adhesive zip tie mounts to achieve my desired result.
I had no issues with installing the application and connecting to Wi-Fi and Alexa. Just note that Alexa can only change the rope light to a solid color and can turn them on and off. Alexa is not able to launch the built-in animations.
As you can see in the pictures, the result is a very nice-looking lighted bar counter.
I ordered this product to add some backlighting to my tv. I liked this better than most led strip as this looks like a solid light rather than multiple dots and the app has several cool lighting features; however, the mounting tape isn't strong enough to hold the brackets and lights up. Other than that, love this product.
This is the 2nd of 3 VOCOlinc smart lights that I have in my home and I really liked them. They are easy to physically put up and shape to design whatever shape or around any object you want. I have them installed on the back of my flatscreen tv on a stand. They light up a dark corner of my room and look very nice. They are not as bright as other VOCOlinc lights but for the placement of them and the price point they are okay, I did remove one star for the lower brightness compared to the other lights that I have installed and the app needs a better user friendly layout. Controlling all the lights through HomeKit/Home on iOS give you the basic controls with white and colors but the app has the other more advanced features that aren't very easily laid out nor user friendly in terms of learning what each thing does/setting etc. Overall I really like the light strip and the integration between iOS and all the vocolinc devices that I have in the home. Great Starting light strip for the smart home enthusiast and good entry price point.
